Hi, i would like to know wich program you people use to manage (create, preview) sprites....

I use mspaint from Windows :) There is Paint.NET which is pretty nice too.
If you want to create animated sprites you will need something more geared towards animated .GIF.

I was under the impression that PPL didn't support animated gif's as sprites, but a series of images of the same size in a line.
I expect i didn't explain that very well at all !

If I remember correctly (haven't done it in a while) you can load .gif files in PPL as sprites.

A gif is a series of image just like a bitmap you would create with mspaint. I never tried it but it should be loaded as one big image, then you just have to tell it how many images there are.
