I have been looking at this thing for a couple weeks and two days ago I've decided to order it. It should be coming in tomorrow. I love emulators and so far no portable devices had offered me good speed and a keyboard.
My DS is simply too slow and the screen resolution doesn't work for some emulators.
My GP2X is pretty good for emulation but without a keyboard it is not really good.
PocketPC's are still slow for emulation of 16 bits systems and are a little small even with physical keyboards.
My MacBook Pro is just too big and fragile.
So for $399, the Asus eeePC is really nice. I don't plan to put Windows XP on it but if Ubuntu becomes 100% compatible with it, I will install it in a heartbeat.
I like the fact that you have to work harder to get something done and these tricks that will come out in the next few weeks to boost it even more, it is a hacker's dream sort of.
