Hello,
I have problems to load the PPC with PPLSetup as described below. It could be, that the problems are by the Firmware/ SW from Fujitsu because it is a LOOX N560 VGA.
On the other hand, this file in quotes below is not up to date with the package what i got
presently by a download from Ariane-PPL.
“
PPL AND PIDE INSTALLATION
=========================
Run the **Setup.exe** program provided in the package you've downloaded. All necessary files will be copied to the destination folder you've chose. This will install the PIDE to your desktop computer. Then the **PPLSetup.exe** will be started automatically to allow the setup of PPL on your PocketPC.
"
And very important for my currently problem:
"If you need to install the PPL (PocketPC) only, simply run the **PPLSetup.exe** program provided with the package you've downloaded to install PPL on your device.
“
I can´t find this PPLsetup-programs added to the download files as discribed above.
The automatically Setup during first start of PIDE is successfull only for the PC.
Though the PPC is well connected i get a error messages so like “PPC is not connected”..
Manually I can take a view on the PPC memory and files send and load.

You're right that the help file is not up to date.* Unfortunately, with the current setup, as you have seen, there is only one install.* If you have already installed the PC version and just want to add the PPC version, simply rerun the install and select Modify for the program maintenance type.* Then add back in the PPC version.
If, however, as I more likely suspect, you simply want to install the PPC version without the PC version, then when the install gets to the point where it asks you to install Complete or Custom, select Custom.* On the next screen, click the arrow next to PPL and select the "This feature will not be available" option.* This will install the PPC version only.* If I'm not mistaken, though, you can't register the runtimes without installing the PC version, even if you are only going to use the PPC version.

Eric,
my intention is, to install quite normally first the PC and immediately the PPC in one stream, but after PC install comes the error, that the PPC is not connected or not available. PIDE attempts ca. 30 seconds and left the install. Then I take a look on the PPC, nothings is downloaded to them.
But I will try your procedure above and then tell you the result.

If I am not mistaken, .cab files are copie over the PPL desktop folder at install. You can try looking in c:\program files\ppl or wherever you have installed PPL on your desktop.
PS: Please don't use capital letters in your subject lines.

Hi Ralfo,
Try this and see if it works any better.
Microsoft troubleshooting page on connectivity (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter//troubleshooting.mspx)
It worked for me (by removing RNDIS then adding it back afterwards) when I had install issues with a WM5/6 device.
Could be that active sync/mobile sync centre is timing out and dropping the connection to the device.
Regards Mike.

Ok Eric,
1
I have run the install again and then select Modify. As far as well, but when I select Mobil PPL, the installer want to install only on Harddrive and not as required on PocketPC, installer issued "0 kb required on Harddrive" . . . or similar.
Result, nothing is installed on my Pocket.

What do you mean with "Then add back in the PPC version".

Thanks Mike,
I will attempt your proposal shortly.

Hopefully Mike's suggestion will work for you then.* The PPC option would temporarily copy the PPC install to the hard drive and then run it, which is why there is no "install to PPC" option.

Mike,
Where and how I can remove RNDIS??
In the PocketPC \ Settings \ . . .\ Networkadapters \ I have found only "Remote-NDIS-Host" , but I can only change 2 items and not others. It is peculiar that here are 2 x "Remote-NDIS-Host" in seperated lines. I surmise, I can´t change anything.

Mike, thanks for your doing.
But just I have solved my problem self.
In the German Version from WM5 is a separate switch under \settings \connection \transfer \ "All Incommings Receive Y/N".
That´s all. After deinstallation - it is recommend - and then normal installation, the PPL system struggled complete up.

Cool. Glad you fixed it. Must be a localisation issue then?

The bad messages is, one times the installer has found my PocketPC and the .cab was installed successfully. I was able to work with the PPC.
Then PIDE tries to register the PocketPC, but without success. I removed (deinstalled) the PPC- PPL and tried a reinstallation, but never I got contact to the PPC for a successful new installation.
Why it is a problem to have a button or a menu point anywhere to install the ArianSoft.cab on a PocketPC when everybody else want it to do? and no have so detours like this.
Further I have the feeling, that somethings is not right with the install destination address for the PocketPC? Maybe the problems therfore.

Alain,
you wrote to me -see above-
" cab files are copie over the PPL desktop folder at install. You can try looking in c:\program files\ppl or wherever you have installed PPL on your desktop".
Right, in this folder i found ArianeSoft PPL.cab and i know it is the install file to the PocketPC.
What can I find else in "c:\program files\ppl" that maybe solve my problem? Yes, I can copie it to the PPC, but that is not the same as a PockettPC installation there. Just I think you are the last hope for me.

Eric,
I have tempted your proposal above, but nothings was installed, not PC and not PPC.
After install routine ever comes the start up wizard on screen, you know it, and is asking for client path PC + PPC( 1.memory - 2.SD-MM ...) why this question for PPC comes not earlier? Now its late, too. After them I can´t never change the path, because I attempted install to SD.MM Card..
Resume, I have no chance to install the PPC after the common start install procedure.
Also I have tried the PPL1.32 and the PPL1.40 beta 5 but with same results.

Alain,
if you see this here, my question for you.
When I copying the ArianeSoft.cab to PPC, after them, how I can start this .cab to extract and then install on the PPC properly with out the common install procedure?
Maybe this could solving my problem.

Open up the File Explorer on your PPC. Then browse to where you have copide ArianeSoft PPL.cab file then double-click on it, it should start the install procedure.

OK Alain,
that was it.
The manually installation was successful. After them I have registered PocketPPL, also without problems. Some small demos from your demo folder is even so running.
Thanks for your support.

On this place many thanks to all which gave support to me.
