I found this and thought it might be interesting for Retro's (Mike).

I have tried styleTap (Palm2WM5) before and it works OK, but not tried with this stuff.

Sorry Donone, but since the emulator wasn't made with PPL (best I can tell :) ), I decided I should move the thread. I used to own a couple of their games a long time ago, and from what I remember they were pretty fun.

Also, here's another blast from adventure gaming past: Adventure PDA. What's cool about this one is that you could download the source (at least of the originals) and make a PPL version :)

Its great that the PDAs/POcket PC's allow us to remember the classics whilst on the move. PPL is ideal for re-creating these style of games and applications.

I think we need more old style games/software re-developed for the mobile generation. The hardware would not be pushed too hard and they should be simple enough to re-code in PPL.

Games today are too 'GFXy' and the game play has been sacrificed. Games of the 70s, 80s and early 90s were all about gameplay and addiction value, regardless if the graphics looked rubbish.

I think we should have a 'Made with PPL - retro' section in the forum so we can post our PPL conversions of classic games and apps. - What do you think Alain?

I found this interesting app - http://www.pocketdos.com/ while looking for retro stuff for the PDA/PPC. Seems good for retro PC stuff as it even runs Windows 3.0 :)

in terms of pocketdos, these links could be also interesting:

the only problem with playing emulators/conversions on the windows mobile platform is the control interface.
don't get me wrong, i get a real boon out of seeing old speccy, gameboy, atari st games on my PPC device,
but i don't really get to play them properly, as the devices have terrible game pads. which is a real shame.

games/apps for windows mobile devices have to be catered for the device themselves. you have a stylus and a few face buttons, usually a dpad that's only good for 4 way movement not 8. sometimes it's even a trackball.
playability is the most important thing in gaming,
and the control method is part of that.
just something to bear in mind.
