download it, run it, change parameters, edit code and have also fun!
it's still so fast that it runs with nearly 30 fps on ppc
BTW i don't know if it is really a plasma effect and it's also not real voxel engine, but i just call it 3d plasma anyway :p

Thats great and a good little example for people wanting to know surface work.
Nice one!

NickNack,
What can I say!!!! :D  :p
Coooool.
I fiddled with some params and the effects are stunning as you can see from the attached images! Keep up the good work.
Smoothing set to 50 in the first and 200 in the second.

Your code is nice and quick.
Even at 640x480 full screen I still get 43 fps on a desktop PC!
As the attachment shows, smoothing set to highest and full screen 640x480.
My centering is a bit off, but it does work! :)

Simply stunning! In just 123 lines you can do that? This just goes to prove the power of the GameAPI. Great work, keep them coming my friend!

Here is a 2D plasma effect.
Very un-optimised and thrown together in about 20 mins.
Unfortunately it is way slower than NickNack's version so dont expect it to run on many devices (only PC probably)
Anyway enjoy.

Here is a second version of the 2d plasma code;
this time using direct screen access via POKE command.
It runs at exacly the same speed so there is no real benefit, it just shows another way of doing it.
Ta
Mike.

yeah that looks more like real plasma, the only thing I miss is the whole thing moving, transforming shapes and such..
it's also not a surprise that yours is slower than mine, since yours does a lot of more calculations (and more complex ones :p).
