Having used Console extensively while 'playing' with the Conway Life program elsewhere in this branch of the forum, I thought this brief tutorial and demo program might prove useful to somebody.
I appreciate that the experts in this forum will already be familiar with my comments, but there will be somebody here that is not.
I have kept it separate from the other posts for obvious reasons.
The Conway Life program is included with Console already in use within it. This is nothing to do with the quality or otherwise of this version of the program, it is solely to demonstrate the Console.
The Tips are from experience, you may feel you can ignore them, do so at your peril :).
If you do, the day will come when you remember this conversation.
If you are interested, run the program and see how the messages work, then play with it by adding or modifying or commenting or deleting messages. Alter the number of cycles in WM_TIMER and then if you are one of those that has not used this before, start using it to find faults (assuming, like me, you have them :) ).
You will never look back.
[Edit] Any body that can add to this tutorial please do so.
