I have just seen Alains 'twit' from a week ago and checked out the new PPL-Lang.com web site.

Excellent work Alain. - It looks like you are pulling out all the stops with V2.

Once V2 has been released, will you be unifying the sites by combining the V1 site with the V2?

V2 looks sooo good. I cant wait for the next 8 days to fly by! :D

Well, thanks Mike but it looks like I won't be able to make it for the official release date. As of now, the product is going through some rewrites because I am not satisfied with it. Everything seems to be in order now but I think I will some more time to spend on promoting it and finalizing the documentation. Another thing that is bothering me right now is the beta testing, it has not be tested enough for release. The testers are doing an great job, it's PPL that needs more testing in general. I also need to send copies out to reviewers and they need some time to complete the reviews. It would be a lot better to have decent reviews out before the product is released, this will create some buzz around the product, which it does not have right now.

I need your advices guys on what I should be doing...

Oh that is a shame! :( But probably for the best then. We need a great product, not a so-so product that has been released for the sake of it!

Is there anything that we can do to help you out Alain?

More testing, promotion, etc???

Alain, take your time to make PPL 2 as convenient to use, as shiny and as bug free as possible. If, due to all your efforts to attract people to PPL 2, someone decides to give it a try this is what counts. The first contact has to be as smooth as possible. To me this would mean to include some spectacular demo applications and a nice tutorial and/or video to get started. These have to be shiny and polished too! If this takes time, great, take it. If it calls for someone capable of doing nice graphics, good, spend the bucks! You absolutely need to produce some kind of a "Wow!" feeling for the first time users to make them spend their money on PPL, right?! Just again, take your time! :)

Hello Alain,

If I can be of any help, please let me know. As a beginner I must be able to filter beginners questions and make tutorials for my kind of people. Should be able to improve the Help file for beginners as well.

Requests for additional functionality will always be there and I wonder if it would be a good idea to release V2.0 and improve it for 2 months and then show your "baby" to the big world.

It took me a long time to find PPL and this must be more or less the same for others.
So I say: let the frequent forum posters play with it.

In case you need extra hands with the IDE, I know the developer of PHPDesigner, who is a real Delphi man.

Keep on breathing and I wish you all the succes of the world.
Helen.

Thank you guys for all the kind support. I will delay the release until the product is to my expectations, right now, it is not.

The product is in beta right now but if more people want to join, please contact us at info@arianesoft.ca

I will work on some video tutorials in the next week. As for tutorials, I have no plans to make any myself. If one of the beta tester is up to the challenge that would be tremendous help.

For the video tutorials, I might need someone with a great voice to do the narration. That person will get himself a copy of PPL 2.0 for free.

Alain take your time. Its more important that the first release of ppl2 be stable. I'm sure a lot of new people, after viewing the ppl2 web pages, will be impressed with the versatility and choice of options. You want their first experience to be a good one.
