Hi Kornalius,
take it easy, because I know how it is when you have not enough time to finished a Project.
Take your time to finished PPL2 and then spent some time with your Family and your Friends.
Best Regards

Hi Stargazer,
I love your reply :) and I guess that everybody who has ever been involved in a project likewise knows what it is.
Be sure that it won't take long before Alain will release his piece of art; the weekend is almost there, which means that most of us then have time to practise and shoot.
Nice shots and positive/constructive posts will be rewarded with the HHPPL-award :D
Greetz,
Helen.

Ok...tonight i got an email...
How to install and the keys...thx for this...
There is just a big problem:
I preordered the MobileEdition...i am not able to download and install my packages?!
I entered the key, but i am not able to set the check-box (in CleverUpdate) to install the packages.
So, what do i have to do???

I think i found the problem....
The key-example:
Serial Number Name: Jochen Schmid
Serial Number: XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX...and so on
No, while installing CleverUpdate again, i saw, that my Name is not Jochen Schmid, itīs just Jochen...
So it would be good to enter the name and the key in CleverUpdate, for those who have other usernames on there PC than the ordered ones ;-)
Any solution for me?

We are working on the issue and rest assured its not because we are are not present much in the forums that we are not working on fixing issues. The only issue concerning installation is the keys not being valid with our servers. We will resolve that today most probably. Fear not we will keep you posted here and via email. Customer satisfaction is our main concern.
Ppl 2 when through beta testing buy cleverupdate did not have time to be fully tested with keys.
Thanks all forthe support and for understanding.

I've got problems ! ! !
Clever update can't connect to server to check updates : "Could not connect to server error!" and i can't check the check box for Orion and PPL2 !
When i run PPL2 ide i get a empty messagebox with title "2.01.0001 Pro", i have to click OK button !
Each time i run a old sample from PPL 1 i get "Cannot connect to server process!" error !
So can't test any samples that . . . oops, were are the samples dir to test . . .
I'm sad . . .

Hi guys, please follow the instructions in the the following post: http://forum.arianesoft.ca/showthread.php?p=11500#post11500
You have all the rights to be sad and annoyed, we understand the frustration.
Dominique the issue you are having could be caused by either Vista or you need a full re-installation.

I have the same problem as Dominique, try to reinstall..
edit: I did a full reinstall and still get this "Cannot connect to server process" message. interesting is, it has worked for one time, but I don't know why it has worked for that one time. it is also not related to vista, I use WinXP.
@Dominique: you find the demo folder under runtime ;)

I've got problems ! ! !
Now when i use >Cleverupdate, it worked ok and downloaded orion and ppl2.
but :
When i run PPL2 ide i get a empty messagebox with title "2.01.0001 Pro", i have to click OK button !
Each time i run a old sample from PPL 1 in ppl2 i get a empty messagebox with title "2.01.0001 Pro", i have to click OK button ! and then i get "Cannot connect to server process!" error !
Clever update shows following versions:
cleverupdate : 1.02.0001
orion database engine : 1.00.0001
ppl 2 base edition : 2.00.0002
I've re-installed many times, in C:\Mes Programmes\PPL2\
cleverupdate and ppl2 are in the same folder
even when i run the ide as administrator, i get the same problem . . .
what ever compile choice, even simple run, i get the same error:
i get a empty messagebox with title "2.01.0001 Pro" and then i have to click OK button ! and then i get "Cannot connect to server process!" error !
What is this server process, i looked under the service listing and saw no service related to ppl2 ?
oh, and yes i use vista but don't save any prog nor run under the uac controlled ones
I'm more and more sad . . .

You have every right to be dissapointed.
I actually ordered Alain to have a nice evening out, so if this error isn't solved tonight you can put the blame on me.

hi Dominique,
try the following please:
open a sample prog and click many times on "Run file or project". I often get the same message as you, but in some rare cases the prog is actually run.
have fun closing the upcoming messages :p

Dominique,
This dialog box is a debug box we've forgot to remove, it is fixed now.
We will have an update tomorrow that will fix a lot of issues with installation re Vista and Admin rights.

Hello, I have the same problems as Dominique to the letter.
I've worked out that if you click the run button, then with your finger on the enter/return key, close the dialog box that appears "2.01.0001 Pro" as soon as you can by pressing on the enter/return key, and it will run the project, well it works here.
(must be some sort of race condition with the debug window)
It has been a pain getting to this point, but all will be forgiven once we get past these initial release bugs.

i confirm your remark:
if just after clicking on run, i hit the enter key as soon as the box appears, the program effectively runs !
Thank's to correct . . .

ps : the same box appears when i run ppl2 ide ! but doesn't seams to have any consequence ?

after receiving an update info from cleverupdate, i saw the message saying i had to uninstall all before applying the update.
So i uninstalled all (cleverupdate, orion and ppl2).
I downloaded cleverupdate from the link told to me.
I ran it and after installed, i ran cleverupdate.
The box is all empty and contain no info about installed products (what is normal because i uninstalled all)
but cleverupdate does nothing and download nothing at all . . .
even the buttons text are white ! ! !
Now i'm without anything running ! ! !
Dominique !

Alain, maybe you manually load the new PPL versions up here on the webpage?
then you don't have to fix the problems with cleverupdate and you can concentrate on the important fixes for PPL 2 itself.
later on you can still fix cleverupdate to make our lives easier.
please consider it well...

I'm now in the same boat as DominiqueB, which is a real shame as I did have PPL2 running just fine. The only additional thing I did was to redownload the pvi files and put them in the same folder as CleverUpdate. Didn't make any difference though.
IMO CleverUpdate is killing you guys. Honestly an updater that cannot even update itself with having to manually uninstall it first is a waste of space. Especially as it will try to update itself and fail. Go to your fallback plan (you do have one don't you?) fast until CleverUpdate is sane.
Sorry to be a moaner but this is getting bad. Being at Release Day +4 with a suicidal product is not a good position to be in!

Hi,
i use an older version of CleverUpdate, and stopped last update of this tool, since after the update, cleverUpdate shows no more contents. One version older shows contents and downloads newer updates of PPL2 and it's packages.

I'm afraid my choice was a rather more scathing - 'StupidUpdate'! I have never yet seen one of these gizmos work well. This one is especially bad for two reasons: 1) It cannot update itself let alone other components - it will try and fail; 2) It takes a working system and destroys it! There really should be a roll-back option. However there are higher priorities such as getting working systems out to customers as rapidly as possible.
I know the folks are ArianeSoft are working their tails off to get this thing fixed and really don't need aged grouches (such as me<g>) telling them there is a mess out here. But if we don't who will!? Anyhow I'll give good folks a break now and go shuffle off to bed for a while :)

OK, nearly there. CleverUpdate can now update itself without having to be manually uninstalled first; good work. But now all the component serial numbers are invalid! Guess we are waiting for an email with new numbers.
kornalius

The serial numbers should be the same. Nothing changed. We have no problems with the serial numbers.
Please contact me via support@arianesoft.ca I'd like to see what is happening.

CleverUpdate has been enhanced this morning to allow it to update itself from itself. I will post the new version today.
