..guys, I'm back from holidays :)
I was in France as Emilio, more exacly in the Auvergne enjoying beautiful landscapes, swimming in wild rivers and eating frog limbs (exquisite :D)
although there were many things distracting me I found some time for PPL. currently I'm hacking my own RTS game together, the goal of all my past actions (ahh you can still find my very first post (http://forum.arianesoft.ca/showthread.php?t=248&highlight=warfare)... memories :p ).
I have attached a screenshot, where you can see my own isometric engine and a flag which you can command around. main issue is the pathinding algorithm, after many hours of learning and coding it works finally, but it still need a major speed up. zehlein, Mike or anyone else interested helping me out? :D it's quite a complex topic especially getting right speed for WM , but a good pathfinding algorithm would be beneficial for many different projects. for anyone interested, here (http://www.policyalmanac.org/games/aStarTutorial.htm) is my primary source. I would share and polish up my source code if needed.
anyway I see the forum was quite active altough it's summer, Emilio is still here and I have missed again my contribution to the diskmag. I'm struggling with my tutorial series, not sure how I can continue it well. need some deeper thoughts on this.
greetings to everyone,
time to get back into it...
