View Full Version : HP iPAQ 110 refuses to install 1.53... :(
When I tried to synchronise files between my desktop and PPC [HP iPAQ 110, windows mobile 6.0] it claimed that installation of PPL was unsuccessful because there was no 'trusted certificate' for the program. Any idea what this means/how I can override it in my PPC's settings?
Thanks all

Hi CresCoJeff,
When you have the .cab file, copy it to your iPAC and install it from there; all should work fine.
The unknown publisher warning occurs quite often; I almost always run a programm anyway.
Succes,
Helen.
Hey Helen,
Where is the .cab file located? I installed 1.53 on my desktop and sifted through the various folders, but I couldn't find any .cab files... I'm working with the trial version of 1.53 in anticipation of 1.6 by the way, in case that makes a difference.
Thanks

Hi Jeff,
Found this post ... http://forums.arianesoft.ca/showthread.php?t=1728&highlight=cab+file
Don't know if the .cab comes with the trial version.
But the good news is that Nicknack will show up for sure; he knows and always helps.
Helen.
Hmm... well I tried the un/reinstall but no .cab file in the root of the PPL directory. However, in the RUNTIME folder there is an application called only 'PPL' which, when opened on the desktop, gives a funky sounding warning (twice) about the current runtime possibly not supporting it and then opening to reveal what certainly appears to be the PPL stripped-down IDE/editor for on-device programming. I tried simply putting that application alone into my iPAQ's sync folder with no good results, then I put the whole RUNTIME directory in and tried opening the 'PPL' app, but it said it was not a Windows CE application. So I can't find a .cab in the 1.53 trial install, and the likely-looking stripped down editor claims to be incompatible with windows mobile :( ... I can't wait for 1.6 to come out, lol. I'd still love to test out 1.53 [if for no other reason than to make sure I'm ready to install 1.6 correctly] so if anybody can figure what might be going wrong I'd appreciate the help! Thanks for all your help so far Helen!

have you downloaded 1.53 from here (http://www.arianesoft.ca/download.php?list.2) ? I just reinstalled myself and I get a ArianeSoft PPL.CAB in my PPL directory.
if this doesn't work, as I said in my old post, I can send anyone the cab or you can try to deactivate the security warnings. I have done this myself once, those messages get a bit annoying in the long run.
yeah, that is where I downloaded from... if you could send me the .cab file I would be most appreciative! heatagni2@gmail.com
Thanks,
