I just installed v1.30, with the newer downloader that was made available on September 15th. FWIW, I am running WinXP Pro ver 2002 SP2 on a Dual Xeon 3.60GHz system with 2GB of RAM.
I find that when I start up PIDE, I get a Windows error message stating: "PPL.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Strange thing is that within a few seconds, PPL seems to start up just fine. (?)
The contents of the error report state:
AppName: ppl.exe
AppVer: 0.0.0.0
ModName: ppl.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0
Offset: 0000f947
Since I could not cut & paste the technical information about the error, I put together the attached .GIF file, which shows everything except the actual stack dump. There was also another file, mentioned at the bottom of the technical info window (54da_appcompat.txt), which I included as another attachment.
Again, PIDE does SEEM to be working OK, but this error message makes me wonder if there is supposed to be some other module opening up when the program starts, that is failing to do so on my desktop.
Hopefully, the info I've included will help you ascertain what is going wrong.
Thanks so much for the update ... I can't wait to try it out further. :)
